Grow with our family as a Payroll Manager at our Furniture Mart USA Corporate Office in Sioux Falls, SD!

The Payroll Manager is responsible for administering all aspects of payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission paid employees.  This is a full-time position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, 401(k)/Profit Sharing, employee discounts and more!  Duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices, keeping up to date with current developments in these areas.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to maintain and update all employee files in a confidential manner.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Serve as the liaison between Furniture Mart USA and UKG/UltiPro (third party provider).
  • Verify tax calculations and filing activities as per IRS regulations are completed by our payroll provider as well as maintaining filings sent to state and federal agencies.
  • Build and run custom reports from the payroll system when necessary.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.


 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee issues in a highly confidential manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.  Proficient with payroll software.  HRIS knowledge, specifically experience with UKG/UltiPro products preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
