Join our team as the Fleet & Equipment Supervisor at Furniture Mart USA! The Fleet & Equipment Supervisor oversees Furniture Mart USA’s vast array of equipment and vehicles. The duties include inspecting, evaluating, maintaining, repairing, inventory, transportation, storage, and administration for all various motorized equipment. This position will ensure equipment is in satisfactory and safe operating condition, supply updates and submit proposals for repairs/replacements to senior management, as well as manage any rentals or logistics involved with keeping operations moving.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspecting all cars, vans, medium duty trucks, and forklift equipment
- Performing and/or recommend preventative maintenance inspections and services
- Track costs to find alternative fleet and equipment solutions
- Maintain positive relations with vendors and service providers in order to maximize up time
- Registering vehicles and keeping all DOT Certifications current
- Performing light repairs as appropriate
- Ensuring mechanical compliance with all Furniture Mart USA, State, and Federal laws and regulations
- Record accurate information using fleet tracking tools
- Analyze recorded data and communicate with leadership to make the best decisions possible
- Advise on equipment replacement cycles and purchasing
- Set up and maintain maintenance and repair schedules
Other responsibilities:
- Follow set fleet policies and advise/create/change as necessary
- Assign vehicles to drivers
- Look for ways to reduce costs and increase profits
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified in forklift or order picker maintenance and DOT Inspection.
- 5+ years or an equivalent degree in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Detail orientated with exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills required.
- Willingness to bring people together and work in a team environment.
- Proficient in computer applications
- Fleet Tracking software experience required
