As Furniture Mart USA continues to grow, our team is growing as well!  Join us as a Benefits & Workers Compensation Specialist at our Corporate Office in Sioux Falls, SD!  We are seeking an experienced, and dynamic individual who thrives at multi-tasking, positive communication, and enjoys a fast-paced workflow. This position requires a strong sense of urgency and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and COBRA.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide employee training and support.
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Timely file and coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator.
  • Ensure all required employee injury claim records, such as the OSHA 300 logs, are accurately maintained in accordance with the law.
  • Document telephone conversations, witness statements, reports investigation results and payment of bills.
  • Keep the management team informed of any safety and health-related issues and/or concerns identified within this respective scope of responsibility.

  • Associate degree in human resources or related field; three to five years’ related benefits or employee benefits administration experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and very competent at correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with customers and before groups of employees. 
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases preferred. 
  • Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive data
