Join our team as a Human Resources Generalist at our Furniture Mart USA Corporate Office in Sioux Falls, SD! We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives at multi-tasking and positive communication, while enjoying a fast-paced workflow. In addition, this position acts as the face of the HR department, interacting at every level of the company. This is a full-time position (40 hours a week) working Monday through Friday.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist handles a variety of duties across the HR Department. This position is not limited to one discipline of Human Resources, but is a cross-functional, interdepartmental role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Self-starter who is actively involved in all tasks.
- Conducts investigations into employee relations issues and communicates employment decisions.
- Interviews candidates and employees regarding background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) results.
- Oversees the administration and communication of the Drug & Alcohol screening process.
- Reviews performance appraisals.
- Completes employment verification and oversees unemployment claims against the company.
- Active member of the Employee Activities Committee and Safety Committee.
- Enters data with a high level of accuracy.
- Conducts New Hire Orientation sessions.
- Performs additional HR duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Upon job offer, must be able to pass a background check prior to starting work
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR one-year related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in the use of computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and e-mail applications
- Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive data
