When people come together for a good cause, anything is possible. Our customers were the heroes in our latest campaign to help fight hunger. We provided them with a way to help, and they responded with overwhelming generosity. More than three tons of food and $90,139 will be shared with local food shelves in six states to assist families in need.”
A food bank representative said the record amounts raised in this year’s campaign will provide more than 450,000 meals for local food shelves experiencing increased demand. One agency said this money comes at a very critical time. They will use some of the funds to make more ethnic food options available at their pantry.
Organizations benefiting from the Hunger Campaign included Minnesota FoodShare, Great Plains Food Bank, Northeast Iowa Food Bank, River Bend Food Bank, Food Bank of Iowa, Feeding South Dakota, and dozens of local food shelf partners throughout the upper Midwest.
