The love of furniture runs in the Kovash family, and Tom couldn’t be more thankful. He got started in the furniture business when his parents opened a small, western North Dakota furniture store in 1976. Tom worked at the store part-time with three of his brothers while also attending school. In 1991, he made the move to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he worked for Ashley Furniture, Furniture Mart USA, and Lane Furniture. Working for all three companies has given Tom the opportunity to see all sides of the business, from wholesale to retail. Currently, Tom works for Furniture Mart USA as the leader of the Ashley HomeStore Division.

Tom’s journey has led to his discovery of the importance in maintaining good relationships in the furniture industry. He always takes time to appreciate the amazing people he has met, and the fellowship that he has been able to experience with them. There are numerous family businesses in the furniture industry, and Tom has been grateful for the chance to work with so many of them.

Speaking of family, Tom is married with 6 children. They love the outdoors, and spend much of their free time either playing games and sports or camping.
